About
So, it's not a lecture series. It's an open discussion room. I'm not a Climate Scientist or Meteorologist, or any kind of expert. I'm just a concerned guy who has done some research and put together some interesting material. I am also a good listener. "The most important thing you can do to fight climate change: talk about it," says Katharine Hayhoe. She's right in the fact that it needs to be first in the national and world conversation. In the spirit of COVID pandemic isolation, I created this room to have grass roots outreach and talk about climate change. But even as we start to get back together, I feel that it's still important to be available for this kind of discourse, therefor I'm continuing it.
This room can be a one-on-one discussion or a round table with a group. If you think that you would like to attend with family or friends, that's fine with me. Got friends or family members that you are having difficulty talking about climate change with, or if they have a question that you can't answer, invite them to come along with you to visit me. Or just send them on.
Want to know what you can do to help bring about change that will lead to real solutions? Want to know how to become an advocate or an activist? I can help you with that too. I'm a volunteer with the Citizen's Climate Lobby, and I can show you how to become an advocate. I choose to use a lot of my time at this because it is my passion right now. However, advocacy could take very little time by simply emailing and/or phoning to let your members of congress know what you expect of them. While you don't have to join to do that, joining us or another similar group makes a lot of sense as you could add your voice to others. There is power in numbers.
Now, about this blog. It's here to support the Climate Conversation with Cooper open discussion room. I've created it so people can come here to find out what the room and I are all about. This blog is a work in progress, as is the room, as I'm continually researching. Hopefully, with time I can add things that will highlight the things I've found in my research. And I'll try to add articles or stories that will keep us abreast of the climate change efforts. If you would like to know what a layman and advocate of climate change reversal learns along the way of his journey, bookmark this blog and return now and then. You can also subscribe and get email notices of new postings. Schedule a Zoom room meeting and come by to say hi. You can also just send me a email from my contact page to ask a question or state a concern or view.
