Regenerative Agriculture

There will not be a Coffee and Climate Conversation with Cooper on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. I will be otherwise engaged in learning more about Regenerative Agriculture and such. I'm not a farmer, but I know that Agriculture is the only present greenhouse gas emitter that can turn that part of the equation from negative to positive. And you know what? The biggest thing I've learned so far is that for most of the time that the human race has farmed the ground and raised our own livestock, we have bucked nature and have been therefore ***ing in our own living room. Sorry, the thought came to my head and I can't find a better replacement. Ahh, but there is so much hope in Regenerative Agriculture. It has long been said, by many and far abroad (I was once told this by a young lady from Thailand) that farmers are the backbone of our world. They are not dumb people. They are not just the stereotyped people shown on the boob tube. There is a LOT of science in what they do. And if a majority turn back to nature and good science, they can literarily save us from ourselves.
One more thing. They are dependent on the market. So as consumers we need to support the efforts of those farmers that choose to do the right thing.
Okay, one more, more thing. There is a senate bill that is about to be brought forward that will help farmers do the right thing. It is called the Growing Climate Solutions Act. It will help American farmers by allowing them to get paid for the greenhouse gasses they sequester and provide support for good agricultural practices. I advocate that you contact your senators and tell them to get behind it.
Well dang, okay; one more, more, more thing (this is a complex issue). We also have to tell our senators to get behind carbon fee and dividend legislation, so that fossil fuel will really be priced right, and the market will then turn us toward greener energy sources. Because if we allow the fossil fuel industry to pay (just a little of its debt to) farmers for sucking up some of its bad gas effluents and then go on polluting and so on; we haven't gained anything in the fight against climate change. Win/win = help the farmers help us and end our dependency on fossil fuels.
If you have read this far, thank you for caring. Take care and pleasant green dreams.
